Vic Mensa drops a punk cover of The Cranberries' 'Zombie'

January 17, 2019

Around a year ago, we lost Dolores O’Riordan, an incredible musician and singer of the legendary band The Cranberries. Now, the late singer receiver an unexpected tribute from hiphop and punk artist Vic Mensa.

Using his 93Punx pseudonym, created for the heavier side of his work, Mensa covered The Cranberries' legendary 1994 hit 'Zombie.' About the song, the rapper said: “We connected to ‘Zombie’ because we were born from violence. RIP Dolores.”

Mensa's love for punk is well-documented by now with his collaborations with acts such as Travis Barker or The Fever 333. Also, he is reportedly working on a punk project involving Barker, and Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden.
