Joe Hertz shares 'Cross My Mind' with Sophie Faith

November 22, 2019

Returning with his fourth and final single of the year and gaining huge momentum after playing Summer sets at Lovebox and Wireless 2019, taking over a slot on Rinse FM and currently recording in LA, one of the UK’s best your producer’s Joe Hertz hits us with another incredible dose of music in the form of 'Cross My Mind' with Sophie Faith.

Speaking on the single, Sophie explains: “I wrote 'Cross My Mind' with Joe Hertz in the summer, whilst being deeply infatuated in a whirlwind romance. I felt like I needed to express or address how that affected me, from the way I look at certain things to the lengths I’d go for him. All whilst trying to retain control and to still enjoy the experience, knowing it was only temporary. It was made on my first session with Joe; but things just seemed to flow and the song came really quickly and organically. After Joe added his signature quirks and extra instrumentation, it turned out to be one of my absolute favourites.”

Joe continues: "This beat has that moody but soulful feel I always like! Sophie and I got into developing it, and this theme of the struggles of love in a big city just felt natural. It’s still a head knocker with some rawness alongside this more sentimental vibe. It was such a pleasure working with Sophie, she brought her energy in an effortless way. Very, very excited to share it with the world 🌎"

The single follows on from the incredible 'Møøn,' 'Rain In Cuba' and most recently, 'One Sided' with Kaleem Taylor - which also arrived with a remix package to rival even the original. Speaking on the track, Joe explained: “Working with Kaleem is mad because he’s so natural at coming up with hooks and melodies. He nailed the main idea in a couple takes. I also sent the track out to a brass trio called triple horns who have been getting involved on my last few releases..it just adds a level of depth to what I’m trying to achieve with my music. Getting more live instruments on my tracks is something that I’m really excited about.”

A critically acclaimed tastemaker, the collaborations between Joe and his carefully selected vocalists are always seamless. With a heavy nod towards a highly anticipated project on the horizon, 2019 has been the year that Joe Hertz sets pace - proving just why his streams are triple some of the UK’s most well known electronic producers. Having recently hit an awe-inspiring one million monthly listeners on Spotify, and being a regular in Apple’s top editorial playlists,  Joe’s fanbase is rapidly expanding.
