Calling All Captains debut new video 'Chasing Ghosts'

January 14, 2019

Canadian quintet Calling All Captains is thrilled to share their new video for 'Chasing Ghosts.' Additionally, the band has announced their forthcoming EP, 'Nothing Grows Here,' out February 8th, 2019 via Rude Records in partnership with Equal Vision Records. The EP, will also features the previously released single 'Disconnected.'

'Chasing Ghosts' has a lot of layers to it's meaning, especially for the different members of the band. It encapsulates all of the self doubt and negative behaviours that go along with always looking in the rearview mirror and knowing that you're not living in the present,” the band shares. “Smoking and drinking as a way to cope with everything because of the issues that have to be faced doesn't get you anywhere. This song is a love letter to all those who are stuck in the same cycle of destructive behaviours that come with romanticizing the past.”

Starting out in a small basement in St. Albert, lined with flags and posters of their favorite bands, Calling All Captains have been working tirelessly to grow their art since they formed in February of 2014. To date, the band has released two EP’s – 'A Way With Words' (2014), and 'Disconnect' (2016) and set up and executed several self-funded tours to support them, fearlessly cutting their teeth to earn every inch of traction. “This is what we love, and this is what we want to do. So, we make it happen” shares bassist Nick Malychuk. After a brief break in 2017 and some lineup changes, Captains came back stronger and more determined than ever, steadfast in their resolve to continue writing and growing as people, and as artists.

From their latest single amassing 500,000 plays on Spotify as an unsigned band, to touring across Canada and the UK and landing a spot on the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, the band’s relentless work ethic and reputation for their high energy shows have been a testament to their explosive growth. Calling All Captains have gone on to share the stage alongside acts like Silverstein, Seaway, Boston Manor, Broadside, Like Pacific and Rarity, and more.
