Justin Courtney Pierre unveils 'I Don’t Know Why She Ran Away,' a Lo-Fi Science Fiction tale in the style of Charlie Kaufman. Directed by Shane Nelson, 'I Don’t Know Why She Ran Away' has everything – a protagonist you will both love and hate, romance, awkward comedy, a dramatic love triangle, and a killer soundtrack.
“One of my favorite movie trailers of all time is for Jean Luc Godard’s 'Masculin Féminin.' It simultaneously tells you everything and nothing about the film, utilizing the entire Chantal Goya song 'Tu M’as Trop Menti.' The goal was to recreate the feeling of this trailer using footage from projects Shane Nelson (Director) and I had done in the past, as well as shoot new footage in order to help tell the story. It’s a lighthearted look at an incredibly dark period of time in my life when I first got “sober,” and my wife and I first met, but the roles are all jumbled,” says Justin Courtney Pierre on his inspiration for the video.
