19-year-old artist Jae Stephens has made a mark with her debut single '24k', the Jam City produced Summer-tinged cut, reminiscent of the hazy days of 90’s R&B inflected pop. She then shared the ethereal yet powerful 'Every Time,' produced by Bruno Major.
Now the young artist returns with her brand new single 'Someone Else,' a high-octane track, which showcases just why Jae is moving in the realms of tastemaker talent. Premiered via Hunger Magazine, the single marks the third release for Jae this year, in her first 12 months of official releases. With the support of Beats, Radio 1 and 1XTRA, Jae has garnered co-signs from the likes of The Fader, Pigeons and Planes and more - cementing herself firmly as one to watch. An anglophile, Jae has had a long-term interest in London producers and has traveled over to the UK to work with the capital’s finest.
Originally hailing from Dallas and moving to LA as a teenager, Jae built herself an online following through Tumblr, with over 200K followers across both her music focused and fashion pages. It was from this following that Jae was inspired to create her own music, and began writing and producing her own beats. Her self-produced work caught the attention of Jam City, who then went on to work with Jae on “24K.”
'Someone Else' is as reflective of Jae’s talents as it is of her need to continue to share incredible new music. Stay tuned for a lot more from Jae Stephens.
