It was quite a busy day for Canadian DJ and producer Rene LaVice. First, he released a new song 'Let You Go' featuring Jareth, and then he shared the even bigger news. After six years, Friction departed BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra Drum & Bass show, to focus on his DJ and production career, with LaVice announced as his successor.
The full statement released on LaVice's Facebook page can be read below.
"Very proud to announce that this November I will become a BBC Radio 1 specialist presenter. I’m thrilled and very grateful to be given the opportunity to represent the music I love on the biggest platform in the world. I grew up listening to the BBC, and got years of musical knowledge and entertainment form legends like Fabio & Grooverider, Zane Lowe, and Friction, along with many many others. I would like to send a massive thank you and love out to everyone who made this happen and a special thank you to Friction. Music is a conversation and a journey that we are all connected with, so without further ado: let’s go!"
