Audi Nines delivers unbelievable 2020 MTB event

Another incredible year of the Audi Nines is in the bag. Where huge jumps, massive slams and some never-been-done before tricks combined to make the event of dreams. In a year which has seen events cancelled and projects put on hold, the whole crew formulated a safe environment where the world’s best freeride and slopestyle riders could get together and send it over epic lines for the ultimate media week.

For the third consecutive year, the former stone quarry situated in the Birkenfeld region of Germany was converted into a top-level mountain bike venue. Created and constructed by the power team of Monster Energy’s own Sam Reynolds (UK) and Clemens Kaudela (GER) and a squad of helpers, the 3 weeks of build time allowed the boys to dig out the Freeride Line, adding 2 new features, as well as building a whole new Slopestyle course. Sam’s 'First Hits' edit with the overview of the course has managed to rack of a quarter of a million views already.

After 5 days of non-stop filming and competing in a relaxed jam format, Adolf Silva (ESP), otherwise known as ‘Loco Silva’ won the Best Freeride Trick with his signature Cali Roll. After a tough year coming back from a femur break at LooseFEST in 2019, the young Spaniard impressed the whole crew by riding hard all week and taking the win: “I’m so stoked to be back riding with the boys and to put down some double backflips and well as my Cali Roll on the Big Air just feels so good!” World Cup racer and freerider Brendan Fairclough (UK) had time to drop into the event this year and had the best time turning it up with the crew: ”I had an amazing week with the boys! This year was so special because we haven’t ridden altogether for 6 months and the stoke was so high all week!” An addition to the 2020 event was the Live Sessions, offering spectators an opportunity to watch the action live from the event with multiple camera angles and a split screen feed, really upping the ante on content production and already has seen close to a million views.
